On Tuesday, November 14th, the WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF) held its Annual Meeting and Celebration of 40 Years of Inspiring Philanthropy. The WECF celebrated the distribution of $3.7 million invested to charitable organizations within the Windsor-Essex Community, through the outstanding support of the Foundation’s donors and community partners in the past year.
This year’s meeting, held at J.P. Wiser’s Experience Centre, celebrated the many contributions made by the Foundation’s Board Members, staff and community partners, and announced new fund holders who have joined the WECF over the past year. Recipients of this year’s Community Impact Grants were announced, and the WECF also celebrated community investments made throughout the past year in celebration of 40 Years of Inspiring Philanthropy in the Windsor & Essex County community.
“Throughout the past year, the Foundation has celebrated with our community and worked with our partners in philanthropy to create lasting legacies,” Richard Wyma, Past Chair of the WindsorEssex Community Foundation, shared with event attendees. “Working with our local partners, we have helped to create projects that will invest in lasting change, reflect who we are as the people of Windsor and Essex County, value our sense of place and culture, and honour both our local history and our future as it unfolds.”
The WECF is proud of its rich history of community building in Windsor & Essex County, and looks positively toward the future as it continues to grow and inspire philanthropy. The WECF is thankful for its donors, volunteers, and supporters who are all so passionate about its work.
