The WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF) brought together students, donors, families, and community leaders on June 26 for its 5th Annual Scholarship Breakfast, celebrating 36 outstanding students from across Windsor and Essex County.
Held at Essex Golf and Country Club, the event recognized recipients who collectively received more than $89,000 in scholarships to support their post-secondary education goals.
The breakfast highlighted the generosity of local donors whose scholarship funds continue to create opportunities for young people pursuing studies in fields ranging from skilled trades and STEM to the arts and education. Many of the scholarships were established in honour or memory of loved ones, transforming personal legacies into lasting support for future generations.
Guests heard inspiring stories from students and witnessed meaningful connections between scholarship fundholders and the young people benefiting from their support.
As access to affordable education remains an important community concern, WECF’s scholarship program continues to help ease financial barriers while encouraging students to pursue their academic and career aspirations with confidence.
For more than 40 years, the WindsorEssex Community Foundation has invested in local initiatives that strengthen Windsor-Essex. The annual Scholarship Breakfast reflected the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to empowering local youth and investing in the region’s future leaders.
WECF extends its heartfelt congratulations to all recipients. Their dedication, hard work, and achievements represent the bright future of Windsor and Essex County. The Foundation also gratefully acknowledges the donors and families whose generosity continues to make these educational opportunities possible.
