The WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF) is proud to be featured in the Anniversary 2026 edition of Windsor Life Magazine.
The article explores WECF’s history, mission, and ongoing commitment to strengthening Windsor-Essex through philanthropy. Featuring insights from Executive Director Lisa Kolody and Director of Impact Stephanie Marshall, the story highlights how the Foundation works alongside partners in philanthropy, community organizations, and residents to create lasting impact across our region.
Founded more than 43 years ago, WECF began with a vision to enhance Windsor’s waterfront through landmark projects such as the Peace Fountain, Peace Beacon, and Bert Weeks Memorial Gardens. Today, the Foundation’s work extends far beyond those early initiatives, supporting a wide range of community priorities through grantmaking, scholarships, endowment funds, and programs including Inspiration 100™, Vital Signs®, and Random Act of Kindness Day™.
The article also highlights the Foundation’s commitment to connecting generosity with community needs. Through its endowment model, WECF ensures that funds continue supporting charitable causes for generations to come. In the past year alone, the Foundation invested more than $1.4 million into charitable organizations, programs, and initiatives throughout Windsor-Essex.
Readers will also learn more about the Foundation’s Vital Signs® program, which helps identify community priorities and emerging needs through local data and resident feedback, as well as opportunities to create a charitable legacy through endowment funds and scholarships.
We extend our sincere thanks to Windsor Life Magazine for sharing WECF’s story and helping showcase the incredible generosity, leadership, and community spirit that make Windsor-Essex such a special place to call home.
