SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Status: ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Applications close: APRIL 30, 2026

The Rattray Family Scholarship Fund is dedicated to honour the legacy of Dave Rattray. Dave was a life long and passionate lover of all things musical. He started out playing the flugel horn in the Salvation Army band in his homeland of England. He joined the British Air Force after the end of WWII and played in the brass band while he was a member.

After coming to Canada, Dave started his career in engineering and worked at Ford Motor Company for 27 years. During this time, he and his wife Helen, supported the Windsor Symphony and enjoyed going to various local music events. After retirement Dave dedicated most of his time to various local musical endeavours. He was instrumental in the development of the Windsor Essex Youth Choir, which is still flourishing today. He sang in the WSO chorus, Windsor Community Choir, Windsor Classic Choral, and the Italian Men’s Choir.

This scholarship is intended to help students enrolled in local music programs at the University of Windsor or St. Clair College.
