The Asamaka Scholarship Fund held at the WindsorEssex Community Foundation
The Asamaka Scholarship Fund was established to empower students in our community, particularly those pursuing studies in engineering, technology, and skilled trades by reducing financial barriers to education.
Inspired by the legacy of Edward Ewere Asamaka, our fund is a pathway that helps young students from diverse backgrounds reach their full potential, contribute to innovation, and build stronger, more inclusive communities
Eligibility Requirements:
- Academic Status: Applicants must be currently enrolled in, or accepted to, a recognized college or university in Canada.
- Field of Study: Applicants must be pursuing education in STEM-related fields such as engineering, technology, automation, robotics, computer science, or skilled trades.
- Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need or barriers that may limit access to post-secondary education.
- Academic Commitment: Applicants must show satisfactory academic progress and a clear commitment to completing their program of study.
- Community Engagement: Applicants must demonstrate involvement in community service, leadership, work, or extracurricular activities.
- Residency: The student must be an immigrant to Canada, or a child of immigrants (first generation) Preference may be granted to immigrants from West Africa.
