The WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF) is excited to announce that the 2024-2025 KidStart Grant Program is now open, and we invite all elementary school classrooms to apply!
This program provides a unique and valuable learning experience for students, helping them develop essential skills such as creative problem-solving, teamwork, and grant writing. By writing a grant proposal, students will learn how to clearly communicate their ideas, manage a budget, and understand the process of securing funding for projects—skills that are valuable both in school and in future careers.
Additionally, the program offers students the opportunity to collaborate with local community partners, gaining a deeper understanding of our community and the issues it faces. This experience fosters critical thinking, civic engagement, and a sense of responsibility, as students work together to develop solutions that can make a real difference in their neighborhoods.
